The patterns and repetitive shapes found in the work of Erin D Garcia return in his latest series of paintings, but with a fervor that has yet been present in his previous offerings. Experimenting with new techniques of gradation of color, these pieces explode into emotion and deep relevance, penetrating the limits of the artist’s process by virtue of rigor and repetition.
Followers of his recent studies will be delighted in the new layers of experience made possible by this breakthrough, and also will appreciate the visible traces of the entire process that can be found in each one. If the careful arrangement of elements in Garcia’s existing body of work can be said to have a rhythmic effect, these new broad spectrums of color create harmonies that overlay these rhythms and aspire to symphony. The paintings inspire joy as well as anticipation of what is to come from this process-driven artist.
エリン・D・ガルシアの作品に現われるパターンや繰り返しのシェイプが、これまでの作品以上の熱を持つ新たな絵画シリーズとして発表される。 色のグラデーションを新しいテクニックを用いながら表現されたこれらの作品は、突き詰めた繰り返しの中でアーティストの製作過程における限界を突き破り、感情に爆発的に訴えそして深い関連性をもたらすものとなった。
ガルシアが近年取り組んできた作品に注目してきたものにとって、この創作上の突破口がもたらしたであろう新たな実験の数々を目にできるのは喜びといえる。そして、それぞれの作品に存在する見られる、そのプロセス全体の痕跡を理解するはずだ。ガルシアの既存作品の中に、注意深く配置された様々な要素がリズミカルな効果を持つと言えるのであれば、新しい広範囲に広がる色のスペクトルは、それまでのリズムを覆い、交響曲のようなハーモニーを生み出している。 これらの絵はただ喜びを呼び起こすだけでなく、このプロセス主導のアーティストがこれから何を生み出すかを期待させるものでもある。
